Do I need the genuine DOIP VCI, or will the ENET cable work?
For vehicles 2010-2020 (pre-secure-gateway), the JLR ENET cable or X-OBD Generic cable is sufficient. For 2020+ vehicles including Defender L663, Range Rover L460, and I-PACE, the genuine JLR DOIP VCI is required because these vehicles use a jlr secure gateway that blocks generic interfaces. Can I use your software with my own diagnostic cable?
Yes. JLR Engineering, JET-PRO, and CCF-PRO Editor work with any ENET-compatible interface including JLR ENET cables, Mongoose cables, and even some third-party options. However, for 2020+ vehicles, only the genuine DOIP VCI will authenticate successfully with the vehicle security gateway.
Do you sell software licences without hardware?
Absolutely. We offer standalone software licences for workshops that already have their own hardware. Our sx-tool licences start at Β£199/month, JET-PRO at Β£299/month, and CCF-PRO Editor at Β£149/month. Annual licences include 20% discount and priority support.
What is the difference between JLR Engineering and JET-PRO?
Our sx-tool is our day-to-day coding and activation platform β fast, intuitive, and designed for feature unlocks and module coding. JET-PRO is the advanced engineering toolkit for power users, including ECU map editing, immobiliser work, and module virginising. Most workshops own both: JLR Engineering for 90% of jobs, JET-PRO for the other 10%.
Is JET Locksmith legal to use?
Yes, when used for legitimate purposes: adding spare keys to your own vehicle, recovering from a lost-key situation, or programming keys for customers with proof of ownership. We do not support or condone theft-related usage. All JET Locksmith sessions are logged for audit.
